The care and attention needed for a truly bespoke project are woven into every corner of this design in Rome.
Before the renovation, the apartment was quite dark, with numerous rooms and hallways and dark finishes everywhere. The goal was to open up the space and let the light flood in. In a residential area with a green space just across, it felt impossible not to bring the outdoors inside.
The design of the main floor was completely reimagined to createan open, continuous living area. It’s a single space made up of interconnected areas (living room, kitchen, dining room, entrance) that flows throughout the home and wraps around the large balcony, allowing light to pour in from every side.
The key elements of this living area are: herringbone parquet flooring that runs throughout the entire home, large windows overlooking the greenery, architectural features (columns and beams) as the only division, ceiling lighting to visually define the space, and minimal furniture to keep the space flowing and almost ethereal.
The choice of furniture was key to this project. We decided to stick with neutral finishes, simple shapes, and soft colors to warm up the space. No wallpapers or bold hues—this way, the color, character, and visual impact would come from the furniture and artwork instead.
Staying within warm and inviting tones, each room has its own focal point: a soft and enveloping sofa in the living room, a gold-toned designer table and chairs for the dining area, and in the kitchen, a darker two-tone palette of wood and anthracite, with a pop of color from the bar stools.

For the bathrooms, we went with a simple, elegant grey stone-effect finish. It’s subtle and refined, but never boring, making it perfect to repeat across all three bathrooms. However, for the guest bathroom, we chose something a bit more daring and vibrant, adding a fun little surprise.
An architect’s job is not only to fill the spaces, but also to know when to stop and focus on the empty spaces. Even though the walls are left with a neutral coat of paint and no coverings, they still stand out thanks to the artwork that really brings the design to life. In the living area, large, colorful pieces by an Iranian artist set the tone, while backlit paintings add a pop of style in the kids’ rooms. Where artwork wasn’t used, custom-made bicolor curtains brought the space together. And in the living room, the staircase stands out with its striking design—wooden treads, illuminated and paired with a sleek glass railing.

“La bellezza di ogni essere umano è nella sua unicità. Il campito dell’architetto è trovare l’unicità di chi ha di fronte e tradurla nel linguaggio dell’architettura.“
