«I don’t believe in a single style: I believe in the freedom to blend different stories, cultures and materials until I find the balance that makes a space authentic.»
I grew up between different cultures, and this has deeply shaped the way I look at the world and the way I design. I believe that every space should emerge from the encounter between people, places and matter, without preset formulas and without the pursuit of a style to replicate. Every project is different, because the stories running through it are different.
I was born in Tehran in 1981 and graduated in Architecture in 2004 at Azad University. In 2007 I chose to move to Italy, where I completed my academic path, earning a Master’s Degree in Architecture at Sapienza University of Rome in 2011. Since 2013 I have been a registered member of the Rome Order of Architects. I began by working in residential design and, over time, my practice expanded through collaborations in Italy and abroad. It is in interior design that I found the dimension that feels most my own: a field in which architecture, matter and people can converse naturally.
My Iranian roots and the life I have built in Italy coexist in every project. It is not an aesthetic choice, nor a declared language, but a sensibility that emerges spontaneously in the way I interpret spaces, in the search for balance, in the relationship between light, materials and proportions. What interests me is creating environments with an authentic identity, never an imposed one.
Every project begins with a long phase of research. I observe materials, surfaces, colours, textures, objects and furnishings, looking for connections that can tell a story. I love working across craftsmanship, international companies and small independent makers, because I believe that quality often arises from the meeting of different worlds. I have no interest in repeating tried and tested solutions: I prefer to let the project guide me, until I find the balance that belongs to that place alone.
For me, a home is not a collection of furniture, but a space that gives back a sense of wellbeing and belonging. I am convinced that it is the details that build the atmosphere: the texture of a surface, the light that shifts throughout the day, the dialogue between solids and voids, the way a person moves within a room. These elements, often invisible, are what turn a space into a place to be lived in.
In my projects I look for fluidity, continuity and simplicity. I like rooms to communicate with one another, the interior to converse with the exterior, and functionality to become a means of improving quality of life, without ever sacrificing emotion. Every commission is a new journey for me. I listen to the place, to the people, to their story and their way of inhabiting. The project is born from this dialogue, never from the desire to leave a recognisable signature. I believe that architecture should interpret rather than impose itself.
My aim is to design contemporary, essential spaces meant to last over time — not because they follow a trend, but because they manage to create an authentic bond with the people who live in them. It is in this balance between design rigour, culture, research and sensibility that I recognise the meaning of my work.
